Back in 1990, budget restrictions for equipment moved some members of the Board of Directors of the Papineau Hospital to form a foundation who aim to raise money for the acquisition of specialized medical equipment. Since its creation in 1990, the Fondation Santé de Papineau has proven to be a corner stone.
The Foundation has added a community theme to its principal objectives, following its merger in April 2008 with the Fondation du CLSC de la Vallée-de-la-Lièvre. In retrospect, it is fair to say that the organization has taken on a more important role within the community it serves. The quantity, the diversity and the size of the fundraising activities demonstrate its constant evolution.
We are well aware that the growth that has witnessed the Foundation is due mostly to its supporters generosity and to the dedicated volunteers collaboration. The donors and volunteers loyalty is always a source of inspiration.
Our needs in the health care system are becoming more and more critical. Everyone knows that quality of health care and services throughout the territory of Papineau depends on qualified personnel and on up-to-date equipment.
Modern medical equipment and financial support to community projects are essential in order to deliver health care services which all citizen is entitled to have. The reality is that government funds let alone are not enough.
This is where the Fondation Santé de Papineau leads the way.
Fondation Santé de Papineau’s mission has been to raise funds fostering improvements to the care and services provided by the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSSO) in facilities on the territory of the Vallée-de-la-Lièvre and Petite-Nation exclusively.
